DICONO DI NOI…
A wonderful small-scale olive oil production initiative, just a few kilometers from Roccatederighi.
Stefano is an exceptional host; he explained his work and vision extensively and with passion—two hours flew by!
The visit was accompanied by a tasting of two truly fun and effective oils. A special mention goes to the sharing of the laboratory analyses conducted on their oil, an example of transparency that many other businesses should follow.
Highly recommended!
(PS: As is normal, the company is located along a fairly narrow and bumpy road between beautiful farms: drive carefully!)
Beautiful small-scale olive oil production just a few minutes away from Roccatederighi.
Stefano is an amazing host, passionate about the mission of making high-quality oil while respecting the territory—a mission shared with his wife.
We spent 2 hours, learning an incredible lot about olive oil production here, and doing a simple yet very well thought out and effective olive oil testing session.
Absolutely recommended!
(Just a note: the field is, as expected, down a quite narrow road in the countryside: drive carefully on the way down!)
Stefano answered our phone calls immediately and provided oral and written explanations so that we could arrive at the best time and everything would be organized for an ideal presentation. The whole family loved these two hours, which passed so quickly: after a warm welcome, we visited the olive grove and learned everything about the life of the trees, their cultivation, and the harvest. Thanks to the clear explanations, enhanced by demonstrations (for example, on pruning and natural processing), this walk against the backdrop of the Tuscan landscape was very informative.
Afterwards, we headed back to the house to taste the two oils produced by the small estate. We learned even more about these two delicious beverages: taste and choice of dishes, composition, quality indicators, health benefits, storage... all in a good-natured atmosphere during very friendly discussions.
We were lucky enough to purchase this precious oil and, above all, had a wonderful time. Plan on spending at least an hour and a half to experience this enchanting moment of sharing, if you enjoy fine local products and want to discover the importance of respecting nature and our health.
A huge thank you for one of our best vacation memories in Italy, which delighted our two little boys.
Two wonderful people who have chosen working in the quiet countryside over the hustle and bustle of city life and...produce excellent oil. They didn't just sell, they opened their home to us, letting us taste their product with warm toasted bread, with dark chocolate (excellent), and between a chat and a bite of bruschetta, they explained and showed us the quality analyses of their oil.
It was the first time they saw us, and the first time ever for us that we not only tasted what we were buying, but also "knew" what we were buying!
BRAVO.
We'll be back for your and our oil, and thank you for the free peach jam.
Afterwards, we were able to taste various olive oils and learned how to distinguish high-quality oils from lower-quality ones.
The morning at Casa Julia was an all-around wonderful experience that we highly recommend.
Tip: It's best to make an appointment early in the morning – it's still pleasantly cool then, and the walk through the olive grove is less strenuous.
We'd love to come back – whether to buy olive oil or simply to say hello to Stefano and his wife.
At Casa Julia we work with passion, love for the land and the territory
If I have the chance, I will definitely come back to see them.
Best regards: Levente
It was a great experience, it was especially nice to hear Stefano and Brunetta talk about oil. The oil is of excellent quality, we bought five liters of it right away.
If I have the chance, I will definitely visit them again.
